Studio Lighting Diagrams

This is a typical set up for rim lighting.

There is a strobe pointing to model`s head hidden behind her head and a main fill light which is bounced on an umbrella to produce soft enough light slightly to the side pointing to the model in front.

The effect produced can be seen in this photgraph where a small light surrounding the model is seen all around her.

This is a typical studio lighting set up for High Key lighting.

There are two strobes pointing to the background to provide an overal highlight to it. A main fill light is pointing directly to the model`s face so that little shadows are produced. The effect produced can be seen in this photgraph where an overall high light is produced showing little flaws to the face.

This is quite a common setup to use because it gives a nice and fresh look to the photograph.

Studio lighting Setup apparatus used is Main light,Kicker Light, Background Light, Hair Light and reflector.

This is a typical set up we use for a good portrait. There is a main fill light which is bounced on an umbrella to produce soft enough light. The kicker is used to produce a good highlight on the face and give some punch to the face

Background lighting is used to light up the background. A hairlight is placed high above the model head to give a highlight on the hair. While a reflector is used to fill any shadows produced by th kicker and main fill light
